This 1947 beach home was remodeled by E4 Architects out of Los Angeles. It is cozily and conveniently nested between the Carpinteria Salt Marsh and the Pacific Ocean. The indoor and outdoor spaces are designed to accommodate the sweeping natural views around the1700 sq.ft. coastal retreat with a beautiful exterior finished in vertical select knot cedar and contemporary design, making it a successful weekend getaway. E4 Architects did a wonderful job of incorporating the mood of the surrounding environment with that of the property. When observing the photos below, you may find yourself wanting to walk into those beautiful sweeping ocean views!
Edward W. Engs established the E4 Architects firm in November of 1991. He has built projects in Los Angeles, Brentwood, Pasadena, Carpinteria, Seattle, Las Vegas and the Bay Area. Publications have included his addition to and remodel of this Carpinteria beach house featured in the book California Beach Houses, published in 1999 and in Coastal Living magazine.
