Unexpectedly stumbling upon great Architecture, is one of my favorite past times. It was many years ago when I first saw this house and it couldn’t have been further from what I was looking for and then BAM!! There is was, this awesome display of intense modern shapes, more like sculptures emerging from the very tranquil and manicured grounds of Montecito’s prestigious Birnam Wood Country Club. My favorite part about this house, is the same thing I love about all my favorite architecture; it’s the perfect blend between a natural wooded, grassy setting and distinct lines of glass, concrete and steel. Unlike traditional it almost disappears taking full visual advantage of its surroundings.
