Leading architect Barry Berkus and recent Cal Poly grad Jaclyn Shor discuss the ways Cliff May blended the archetypes of ranch and hacienda in modern buildings that were at once progressive and familiar. Their setting is a home Cliff May designed and built in the Santa Ynez Valley, just north of Santa Barbara in stunning Central California. Berkus and his firm recently renovated the structure to open it up and pay homage to May’s original vision.
