Steel and Glass Contemporary – Architects Magnus

This newly constructed contemporary home was designed by San Diego based husband-wife team, Architects Magnus. The home was built utilizing flat metallic wall panels in order to portray a ‘residential art gallery feel’, with exposed steel throughout the interior. According to the current listing the home is composed of recycled steel, glass, concrete and an abundance of high quality/high design details, European hardware and appliances and LED lighting.

Originally titled ‘The Anthrazit Project’, this was “a fire rebuild stemming from a home lost in the 2008 Santa Barbara/Montecito Tea Fire. The owner, an internationally renowned artist, who had been working with esteemed architect Hector Magnus, had employed various fire resistant techniques in terms of a defensible space site plan and fire resistant architectural design, but also sought non-combustible, fire resistant materials with which to build the home.” – www.ecosteel.com
